About Japanese Breakfast:

Japanese Breakfast is the musical project of Michelle Zauner, an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Known for blending dreamy indie pop with experimental sounds, Zauner’s music has gained widespread critical acclaim for its raw emotional depth and introspective lyrics. Her previous albums, including Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017), received praise for their innovative production and Zauner’s ability to convey vulnerability and strength simultaneously. With Jubilee (2021), Japanese Breakfast continued to expand their sound, creating a more upbeat and orchestral approach. The upcoming album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), is expected to build on this evolution and showcase even more of her emotional storytelling.
